The Riverside High School Athletic Booster Club is committed to providing student-athletes at Riverside High School the very best facilities, equipment, protection and opportunities. We raise funds for uniforms, training equipment and team support.
Riverside soccer won their home opener vs. Rocky Mount HS Tuesday night, shutting out the visitors 4-0. Sophomore Ellen McAdams scored 2 goals and Senior Marie Muir and Junior Meg Van Horn scored one each for the 1-1 Pirates. Junior keeper Caitlyn Patton got the shutout in goal as the Pirate defense stood strong.
The Pirates' next game will be Monday, April 6 at 6:30 vs. PAC-6 foe East Chapel Hill. Come out and support the team!
4th Annual RHS Booster Club Golf Tournament April 25
The Riverside Booster Club will be hosting the 4th Annual Golf Tournament on April 25 at Hillandale Golf Course. This is our final big fundraising event of the school year and has always been a success.
The Booster Club has many ongoing projects we could use your help with. Whether you’ve got 5 minutes of time to text us a score or tons of time to lend a hand, we need you! We work to support every Riverside team and we need parents and students help with the following:
Spirit Wear Sales – We need your help staffing the table to sell shirts and other spirit items at games and open houses, and ideas for new designs and products. Contact Brenda Williams (919-824-0064) to volunteer.
Memberships – Staff the table to sell memberships at games and open houses, help to coordinate volunteers. Contact Karen Van Horn (919-630-5343) to volunteer.
Website – We need scores and game stories, pictures, links to stories about Riverside from the local media, and team reps to feed us team information. Contact Paul Thacker (919-819-9439) to volunteer.
Sponsor Program – Help us identify and recruit new business sponsors and coordinate their advertising. Contact Todd Patton (919-685-6175) to volunteer.
Golf Tournament – We need prizes, golfers, sponsors and food for the 4th Annual Golf Tournament in April 2015. Contact Jeff Anderson (919-368-8576) to volunteer.
Student volunteers are especially encouraged – you inspire us to work harder!
The Riverside Track & Field team is unable to practice or compete in the High Jump or the Pole Vault events due to a lack of equipment. The original equipment from when the school was new in 1991 is no longer safe to use after 20+ years of weather, wear, & tear. Buying new equipment at $15,000+ is out of our reach budget-wise.
Coach Brown would love to have help locating some used - but still usable - equipment. If you have contacts at Duke, UNC, NC Central, or anywhere else that may have extra High Jump or Pole Vault pads gathering dust somewhere, please let Coach Brown know - firstname.lastname@example.org.

You can help us. We are working on a plan for another BBQ fundraiser in Fall 2014. The Booster Club will be having its golf tournament in Spring 2015. We have Pirate shirts for sale. And we have a business sponsor program that just started this past year.
We welcome your ideas for new projects, and any help you can offer to make Riverside even better.
The RHS Booster Club needs you. We are an all volunteer organization of parents, teachers, coaches, students, alumni, and members of the community dedicated to supporting Riverside student athletes.
- We need your help with fundraising for our teams. We have established a new sponsorship program in an effort to raise money from area businesses. We would like for this program to take the place of students and their parents selling things, but the sponsorships won't sell themselves. Do you own a business or know someone who does? We will gladly customize a sponsor program to suit your needs. Details on the sponsor program may be found here.
- We need your help keeping this new website current. We welcome new content - pictures, stories, game scores & stats, and any ideas you have to make the website better. Your content, comments, and ideas may be submitted to Paul Thacker, Todd Patton, or to email@example.com. We can also give you team access to make updates yourself.
- We need your help selling those great "Got Purple" shirts and Booster Club memberships. Contact Brenda Williams to help with spirit wear and Karen Van Horn to help with memberships.
- We need your help with our big Spring 2015 fundraiser, our 4th Annual Golf Tournament. Contact Jeff Anderson to help make that key event a success.
